Hey Terry, thanks for hosting me on Saturday. I had a blast!!! Your trails are awesome, fantastic job you have done designing and maintaining them!!

I will certainly go out again to see if can improve my riding skills and eventually start timing my laps.

This is a great resource for anyone that is passionate about off-road riding that lives in the west end of Ottawa, it really is!

All the best and many thanks again!!!

Thank you very much to Terry for hosting me earlier today. I am honestly surprised more people didn't show up - great day, great trails, and a short drive/ride for anyone in or near Kanata.

Thanks Terry!

Reminder:
Upcoming trail ride days - Nov. 19th (AM) and Nov. 20th (All Day).

For those of you that have not made it out yet, why not take this opportunity to stay away from the hunters and come show me how fast you can get through this tight little trail network. Riders are kept safe from bike to bike collisions with direction control and yield arrows at intersections. You can go as fast as you want most of the time even with new riders out on the trail. It's all tight and technical riding other than the main loop so a more powerful bike won't help much.

How are the obstacles looking for trials? There’s a bit of snow on everything here and it doesn’t look like it’s really going to melt.

Same here. Sorry to reply too late but the weather was nasty and no one showed up anyway.

You may have noticed that I have recently dropped all references to trials in my announcements. It seems the very few trials riders in the Ottawa area are now practicing elsewhere so the maintenance is not getting done around the rocks. If there is interest in getting trials going again at my place I'm all for it. In 2022 there were more hours spent mowing the grass than riding so it seems to have died out.

I took the opportunity of the unattended ride day yesterday to change the trails up a bit at the intersections. I now have it so the Pink, White, and Orange trails can be ridden in sequence without going out to the main Blue trail (I will change these to just one colour someday). Also the purple cross- over trails can be completed without going onto the blue for 20 feet as it has been for years. These updates make it so there are far fewer intersections in the trails system and that should make it safer for everyone. There has not been a collision between bikes that I know of at my place but now the likelihood is greatly reduced.

In other news I busted open the MSF donation jar and made the 2022 donation of $90, thanks to all who contributed. I will put a copy of the tax receipt on the wall with the others.

I also want to thank all that came out to ride in 2022. You may think I have the luxury of riding my trails anytime but in reality I only ride them when you come out to play.

As always, I welcome snowshoers to make use of my trails all winter, anytime, just let me know.
Cheers,
