I am looking for some advice.I have a 13 year old son who gave up hockey this winter so he could ice race his XR100.I realize the XR100 is not exactly an ice racing favourite but at this time it is all he has.We are looking for studded tires that will fit this little machine but unfortunately we are told that they are not available.(300x16 rear and 250x19 front)
I can have a set of tires profesionally studded for it at a price of about $650.00 by the time I get them to my door.Add in a front fender guard and we are looking at about $750.00 for 5 races. If he was done growing and keeping this bike for the next few years I wouldn't mind spending the money but I'm sure he will outgrow this bike soon and we will be studding the tires on a 125 before long.Any ideas on how he can try ice racing without putting out a grand would be much appreciated.
Thanks again
