The Great 2023 Calabogie Cleanup

This thread will be used to help cleaning crews focus on trails that need work and keep track of what is cleared for riding.

-Establishing new paths around fallen trees is not an authorized practice by MNRF, doing this on a wide scale could harm our relationship with MNRF and our access to the trails, we also lose flow and exacerbate erosion
-Cut 18" to 24" on both side of the trails when possible
-When reporting a trail as cleared, please ride / clear the entire length of the trail

Please reply with the work you completed so I can update the list
Prioritize single track trails!

Boogie North

Work crew out weekend of Aug 19th to do required clearing

Boogie South

Trail in pretty good shape. I have rode most of the route in August.

Below are the only areas I know of needing attention (as of August 21)

- Red Horse, bigish tree down around where SS Minnow joins - needs to be removed since this is part of orange loop
- Deliverance, big tree down on the hill entrance at SOT, rumors of another tree elsewhere (I haven't verified, anyone knows?), you can get around this tree
- Land Time Forgot, face slappers, low priority since this trail is not getting much use
- Odettes, ByPass section, ATV crashed some brush, clearable with hand saw, face slappers
- Ho Chi Ming (this seems to be called Helter Skelter on Steph's maps?), between Whisky Throttle entrance and Odette ByPass entrance, low priority
- Mud Run, I have not checked, anyone?, low priority can always bypass
- Quinn's, face slappers mainly around section that UTV/Trucks/ATV do not use going down front of hill (e.g. the old trail before the loggers went in last), low priority
- Mair Lake, more face slappers to be removed, but low priority in fair shape
- Three Floods, face slappers to remove, but low priority

If you have an update, just use the Reply, I'll get notification and update this section. Thanks. Doug.

Rode Snake Head yesterday & it needs some cleaning up.
We had some serious high winds the last few days bringing down some new obstacles :(

MNR Road from 3 Floods to K&P is clear.
Screw U North is clear (although I took that trail off of it after the beaver dam that runs north of the trail and cuts out about a 1/3 of the trail).
Odette is passable, but the west part of the trail is very overgrown.
