Anyone who's interested in riding SAT PM or Sunday (anytime) give me a shout. Planning to leave from Kanata and backroads towards Clayton/California Road/Back of Calabogie. Nothing too serious "trailwing type territory"

I was up at the north end of the California Road Thursday. There was still lots of snow in any shady areas and parts of the road were very soft; sort of frozen on top but mush underneath. LOTS of sand and major potholes on the local paved roads. Water over the Bellamy Road in spots but recently graded and lots of deep fresh gravel.

Locals warned that ATV's had already "rutted up" the California Road.

Discretion overcame spring enthusiasm; an R12GS on Tourances is a big pig when bogged to the cylinders.

Thnx David - might have to work on a plan B.... I have a new (to me) bike, so I have to go somewhere this weekend - even if it's mostly blacktop backroads
