GPS track loading for events

...and I was wondering what would be required for this task? (Laptop, software, cables?)

I could volunteer for this if required?

If you had a Garmin Oregon, Dakota or Colorado you could send it wirelessly.

For the upcoming D-S ride on Saturday (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1331) I will have my laptop and I should be able to easily upload to any Garmin GPS from MapSource. I may be able to convert the file for other brands but I don't want to promise anything.
