Moving to Ontario lots of questions

Hi all, looks like a great organization. My wife and I are planning a move to Ontario next summer. Rather than ask too many questions all in one thread I'll keep them separate.

We are going to be looking in and around the Eganville area or within 1 to 1.5 hr drive from Ottawa. Currently I have the ability to ride from my garage about 8km to my local single track trails in MB. Are there any similar small communities where this will be an option that I should add to my house hunting list. I currently do not own a tow vehicle for my trailer so would love to have the ability to ride from the garage.

Hello and welcome.

If dirt biking is driving your housing selection I would look near Calabogie. With prime spots being just west of the Calabogie ski hill (for Calabogie north side riding) or just south of Barryvale on the K&P (for Calabogie south side riding). You can widen your search from there, but both locations are common staging locations for those of us that have to drive to ride.

Check out the GPS tracks in this topic to get an idea where the double track is. The single track is not shown, that's why you don't see anything west of the ski hill.

The OFTR website, shows there are riding areas in the Madawaska Area, not to far from Eganville:

I know little of the area other than what's written there.

Dacre is close by and also known for it's Longest Day dual sport/adventure event:

I suspect the riding in and around Eganville is great and you could certainly do a lot worse for proximity to riding areas.
