First ride at the Limerick, I popped out of the woods into a clearing and saw a clump of bright pink flowers. Had never seen ones like that before, so mentioned to my wife who is an avid gardener. Stumped her. She wasn't familiar with anything like that, and search didn't find anything in this area that would be that big this early in the season.

Second ride I snapped this photo. Partly to help her identify it, and partly because I was not sure she believed I saw what I saw.

Still stumped, she zoomed in and asked if it was fake. “I think I see a thread weave, like a silk flower”.

Third trip to the Limerick, I planned to collect a petal to prove I know a real plant when I see one. Oops! It was indeed a fake. No explanation for how/why it landed where it is...
